"Wetlands Over The Solent"
Acrylic on Fine Linen Board
A Little glimpse so far of my painting in progress, inspired by a warm summer's day overlooking the beautiful British wetlands and The Solent.
The wetlands were covered in soft pink heather, creating a peaceful carpet of colour, while in the distance, sailing yachts gently explore the waters of the Solent. I'm trying to capture that feeling of warmth, freedom and tranquillity I experienced during a visit.

Meet the Artist
Welcome, I'm Michelle a West Berkshire, UK-based artist, I live in a small town with my husband, two sons and our cute dog. I spend most days working and creating in my home studio.
My Reason
Being an artist brings me joy, it is how I accept and recognise who I am and why I paint.
As a creative child, I didn't share my art, I hid in quiet places, where I wrote and drew in secret.
Once, in an art lesson, a teacher watched me paint a small blue bird. She asked if I would paint it bigger, to hang on the school wall. I was shocked, embarrassed. So, softly, I said no.
Looking back now, my heart aches for that little girl, who didn't believe her art was worthy of being seen. Who wasn't confident enough to let her work make others feel something, to bring joy.
Today, I paint for her too and this time, I let it be seen.
My Intent
Through my work, I aim to honour and bring awareness of these fragile ecosystems, creating one-of-a-kind paintings that invite reflection, foster connections and support a deeper appreciation for wildlife and conservation.
My art can benefit a person who battles with stress and anxiety everyday and needs to surround themselves with a sense of peace, calm and serenity, to allow their mind to rest. I hope my work can help transform their home into a beautiful sanctuary.
